I found the best afghan recipe! And it’s very easy. Alexa Johnston has three amazing books of baking recipes, mostly sweet stuff but a few savoury things as well. They are full of really traditional New Zealand baking like lamingtons and home-made ginger kisses, which I love. She has some of her recipes online at www.ladiesaplate.co.nz. This Saturday (10th September), she is doing a book signing and demonstration event at Milly’s Kitchen (Ponsonby Road, Auckland) to promote her new book “What’s for pudding?” so head to the store to check it out!
